These stories can help us understand our local history, as well as focus in on the kinds of buildings that we see every day, but which may not always grab our attention. They are the stage set for our lives, the backdrop against which our lives play out. Knowing them is also to know why these backdrops are important to the feelings of belonging in a place, a feeling we all share.
